SOM NOISE (Spain) – BREACH

Thursday 29.9.2022. at 20:00

A knot, the fruit of the oppression of her pleasure. A knot that binds her hands and forces her to inflict violence on herself. After externalizing the anger and physically experiencing the pain, she begins to forgive and connect with her inner being. Breach talks about sexist violence against a woman’s body as a collective and transgenerational memory, perpetrated by the patriarchal system and Christian heritage. Violence is not individual, direct, or isolated; rather, it is expressed in a multitude of forms and is represented metaphorically through the rope and through the struggle against itself. Through the language of sound and movement, in an intimate and poetic way, Som Noise invites us into the space of ambiguity between pleasure and pain, eroticism and violence, submission and empowerment, in order to establish a dialogue about sexual abuse and the system that supports it.

In 2018 Vivian Friedrich joins the team as a dramaturgist and director for the show Breach, and from 2019 till 2021 Laura Cardona takes over the production and PR. The project’s identity lies in representing a reflexive, poetic and political circus which requires sincere language, is narrative and evades consumerism in order to preserve its character, understanding art as a practice of freedom and reconciliation. Co-authoring and team work are essential parts of their creative process.
