In Dolores, acrobats Elske and Philine confront their most demanding—perhaps even unattainable—circus figures, repeating them relentlessly. Drawing on twenty years of experience, they expose the boundary between mastery and failure, where failure is not concealed but celebrated. Each attempt—successful or not—becomes part of the performance.
Structured like a conference encounter unfolding as an informal, podcast-like conversation, the artists reveal their most intimate artistic dilemmas, searching for answers somewhere between Phenomenology of Spirit and the tale of the Three Little Pigs.
Within a stripped-down dramaturgical space resembling a ring for the clash between truth and illusion, the inherent absurdity of circus art comes to the fore. With raw sincerity and no theatrical embellishment, Elske and Philine reduce partner acrobatics to its very essence.
