FRIKROK DANCE PARTY BY DJ KORNEL
Kornel began spinning records in 1986 as the resident DJ at the Youth Club Črnomerec, then popularly called Vrhovec after the street it was located on. The club managers generously gave the young enthusiast full creative freedom, so he specialized in raw psychedelia and krautrock, with occasional forays into other genres like post-punk or medieval music. All of this happened under the weekly listening session Korijeni priviđenja (“Roots of Apparitions”), which ran until the club’s closure in 1990.
In the years that followed, he occasionally launched new DJ programs in collaboration with the crème of Zagreb’s underground scene—SubNoir with Vjeran Pavlinić Kolumbo (aka DJ Sleaz-O-Sonic), or Močvara ljubavi and Bijeli zeko with Mario Kovač. Along the way, he joyfully traveled the scene, running the indie label Kekere Aquarium and co-founding bands such as Zli bubnjari, Šumski, Stampedo, and Shine Design, as well as the club Močvara.
For this occasion, he will dive into his vinyl collection and carefully curate musical delicacies without genre constraints.
