How can we, in terms of emotions, deal with mortality and face ourselves as mortal beings? The performer establishes a very close relationship with her stage partner – death – thus trying to convey a very specific emotion and to present death as inevitability, a part of life, while toying with grotesque, with the elements of horror, drama, comedy, and parody alongside her trapeze performance. The wish to get to know death, the fear, the passion, the anger, those are just some of the emotions displayed in the performance through circus and puppetry, creating a unique narrative without words.

Petra Najman was born in Zagreb in 1999 and at the age of 12 she started doing circus in the association Cirkorama, where she was performing in numerous productions between 2014 and 2016. At the age of 18 she went to a French circus school in Turbul, to learn about circus pedagogie for children. After that she goes to a professional circus school Piste d’Azur, specializing in static trapeze. At the moment she is a student at the Italian circus school FLIC in Torino, enriching her artistic and technical skills in the same discipline. My Death and Me is her first solo project as an author and performer.
