Belly Full—belly and beard—dub activist and selector from Zenica (BiH), currently based in Zagreb. About 15 years ago, he started organizing concerts and festivals in his hometown and was also a selector in the Zenicafaria collective. Roots to Dubwise defines the style of his sets, which have played everywhere from Bosnian cafés to Austrian basements.
His musical expression was deeply shaped by the Seasplash Festival, and he developed his style through his civic activism. As often happens across the former Yugoslavia, reggae/soundsystem culture brings people together—Belly Full has contributed both musically and through activism to Gotiva Festival, Seasplash, Outlook, Escape the City, and many other events. The music he selects carries socially critical messages—against borders, fascism, and discrimination.
